Michael Erickson has been serving Toronto and Canada for 20 years — and making a real impact. As a high school teacher, Michael Erickson has focused his work on decreasing suffering and increasing hope for young people. As a community builder, he created The Ghana Project, a social justice trip for teens. As a leader, he served for years on the Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans Youth Line Board of Directors and was on the Metro Network for Social Justice steering committee. As a volunteer, he has been a union branch president, a poverty & disability activist and a high school hockey coach.
“I think we stand at a crucial moment in political history. We don't just believe what politicians tell us. With the click of a button, voters can find out for themselves which of our leaders have a history of serving people and which have a history of serving themselves.”

I am deeply grateful to Michael Erickson for running in this election and so should every voter in the riding. This election is about the future of representative democracy in Canada. It matters who represents us.
Michael Erickson is a highly competent and engaged Toronto educator. He is sensitive to the so often ignored issues of justice as well as to the often forgotten options of helpfulness and understanding.
He represents what 'community' means to us and the voters of Etobicoke - Lakeshore deserve such genuine representation.

I live in Etobicoke-Lakeshore with my husband John and my daughter Gracie, and our family is supporting Michael Erickson NDP.
I have known Michael for almost 15 years. I have had the pleasure of working with Michael since our days in student politics at York University. I can say with confidence that Michael is a candidate with integrity. He has strong principles and is not afraid to stand by them. He has an excellent analysis of how various issues affect people and communities, and is a great ally. Michael is dynamic, energetic, smart and compassionate. As an educator and activist, I know that he cares about our families and our community, and will stand with us as our representative in Ottawa.
I believe Michael will be a great asset to the Etobicoke-Lakeshore community, and to Parliament as a whole. Please join me in voting for Michael Erickson on election day.

Mr. Erickson is definitely the type of person that the city can benefit from. Having him as my grade 12 English teacher was a real treat and I have never met anyone as understanding as him during my high school years. He is definitely someone who gets the job done and is always willing to try new things. Whether it is to raise gay lesbian bi trans queer issues through conferences such as "Converge," or to plan cultural events such as Asian Heritage Month Celebrations and Black History Month in the school, he always did a fantastic job.
Toronto is such a diverse city consisting of many different types of people from many different backgrounds. Mr. Erickson is someone who thoroughly recognizes and embraces cultural and identity differences.

Getting to know Michael Erickson over the past several years has been a journey well worth embarking on. Michael brings to the table unparalleled wisdom and intelligence about political matters and a natural ability to recognize and understand multiple perspectives on a given issue. Michael's unique life and professional experiences have molded him into a generous spirit who shares his perspective even when doing so is risky; that is because he values exchange, dialogue and intellectual exploration, the quintessential qualities of those suited for public office. Defined by deep and abiding interest in social justice and a true passion for contributing to the world he is a part of, here we have a person who gives of his time and energy in ways that we all need to emulate.
